Issue 187- "Written Off, Part One"

Written, pencilled, inked by: Heath P. Lail

Y'know, most of you had probably written me off as a drunken (or at least lazy) fool who would let the roof fall in on the ol' Cafe. Nope. Just haven't gotten any inspiration in a while.  I want to be candid about a topic that is near and dear to all us puny Earth creatures...love.

I want to be loved. I want someone there at night to hold me, snuggle with me, cry on my shoulder in a sad movie and someone who will love me despite all the nuances that come along with being me. I want someone who challenges me intellectually, morally, religiously and otherwise, though I don't want someone who nags should my opinion not coincide with her "correct" view of the world. I want a lover who gives 110 percent of herself to me when we make love, and who expects no less of me in return. I want to be appreciated for what I do to provide for myself and my lover, and appreciative of my lover when she suprises me with a special gift or an affectionate kiss from out of the blue. Most of all, I want a love that encompasses every aspect of my day, and eclipses all other things when it is Right. I guess it's like the old song goes, "I want a lady in the street but a freak in the bed". LOL.

If you have that special someone to hold tonight, be glad of that. It should never be taken for granted, because you never know when you might be left alone. Cherish the love you share, and always make the most of your time together. It is a special gift that some search their whole lives and never find, so expand your love, your minds and your tolerance through each other, always seeking for ways to enrich the other's life. Be open to try new things, and never disrepect your partner for differing opinions, because everyone is entitled to different views on the same subject--if that were not true or not allowed, imagine how quickly the world would become a bore. Most importantly, TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM EACH AND EVERY DAY. Nothing is more satisfying than being told you are loved...nothing feels better.

Ah, Love, Love, Love. Thinking about it is only going to get worse for the next month. Stupid Valentine's Day. Ugh.

You summed it all up nicely, though, I think. It's a powerful desire.
